Internet Movie Database - IMDb is the one site to know if you have to choose one (some old reviews I wrote are here)
Roger Ebert - If you're only going to read one review, this is probably the best choice, although lately he seems to like almost everything
metacritic.com - This is a good place to go to find the consensus (or lack thereof) on any current film
Stanley Kauffmann at The New Republic - Read Stanley Kauffmann's film reviews here
Filmspotting - My favorite podcast
FilmFestivals.com - Based on the few I've been to, film festivals can be great, although this site is hard to navigate
Reel Views - James Berardinelli seems like a good online resource
Greatest Films - I haven't explored this much yet, but it gets raves from trusted sources

Camera Cinema Club - Hosted by the San Jose/Los Gatos/Campbell Camera Cinemas (disclaimer: I am an investor in the Camera 7)
De Anza College - The community college where I've taken a few film classes
Landmark - The web site for the peninsula Landmark theaters (now only the Aquarius and the Guild)
Stanford Theatre - Site for the Palo Alto theater which shows many excellent classic films

Digital Bits - Good for early rumors on when new discs will be coming out; their explanation of widescreen and anamorphic is also excellent, as are Robert A. Harris's columns
DVD Journal - Good for reviews of classic and art films, and a regular publishing schedule (currently Monday and Tuesday only)
DVD Price Search - When you want to decide which eTailer to buy from, go here first
DVD Talk - A good source for reviews of new DVD releases

Amazon - The first choice
Deep Discount DVD - I have used them many times and while they are a little slow sometimes, they do tend to have the best price
buy.com - I have used them once, and while they were a little slow, they did deliver and for a good price
DVD Planet - I have used them once and they delivered in a reasonable amount of time, but their status e-mails were substandard and they also charge sales tax in California

NetFlix - If you want to rent rather than purchase, you could go here (this is the only rental site I have personally used)
cafedvd - Here is another Silicon Valley-based rental site, specializing in non-mainstream films (they do a la carte rentals with no monthly fee)
GreenCine - This one also specializes in non-mainstream films but only does monthly fee type rentals like NetFlix (and they are in San Francisco)
