Princess IdaI had bought copies of two books with the G&S shows illustrated by W. Russell Flint's brilliant watercolors. I scanned four of his eight Princess Ida pictures, intensified the colors, added text about the current production, and offered the images you see here on T-shirts. The text under each picture is the phrase from the libretto that the picture illustrates. You can probably find the books on abebooks.com. Flint did eight illustrations for each of eight shows. The shows come in books of their own or as two books, each with four shows. |
